Two.

It just wouldn't be two without a couple trips to timeout and a swat (not a celebratory one) on your big day. Two means being able to move large chairs around the house so you can reach and climb on whatever your little heart desires. Two means being able to tell on your sister in full sentances. Two means that, thanks to your friends and family, you finally have some boy toys and no longer have to watch Barbie and the Diamond Castle if you want to play with trains and cars instead (although you do sing that Connected song real good buddy). Two means you've only got a few more teeth left to come in and only a few more months left in diapers...except that you need them to keep your pants up. Two means that you can say repeated prayers but you can also throw in a "thank you for my Thomas train" at your own will.

We love you Miles and we're so glad that you are TWO!!

Note- More on the bday celebrations later...

Happy Birthday Miles!

Madi still looks at the pictures from our trip to NYC to see Jenisteen and says - there's me, Bailey, Avery, and "baby" Miles you just can't see him yet cause he's still inside Lynn's tummy! From on fellow tiny butt to another - adjustable waists are a God send and belts work too! And who says your age has to match your clothing size when you're a toddle :)
Love

the bad news is that the terrible twos don't start until they're three. happy birthday miles. we love you!

haha. Sara, that is true isn't it. Being two also means custom made cakes...I've given up on that :) miss you guys...just saw a magazine article on Bainbridge(sp?) island. So beautiful. Washington really is paradise in its own right. So many gawjus places. Hope we get to visit soon. XO

2 is really not so fun, but it is sometimes...i guess every age is that way! happy birthday miles! note-one thing i don't like about nani turning 2 is that she likes to negotiate/argue with me-it really stinks cause she talks too well:)

Sometimes adjustable waist just don't work either. One bonus is that he can fit into his clothes for a lot longer.
Happy B-day big guy!

i always wondered when the terrible two's start and end and if it's different for every kid. i'm sure there are many schools of thought on the matter. either way, every stage has its bad and good. and by the way, i'm really wantin a big ol' piece of that cake. I'm sure it didn't last long.

The terrible twos are quite the treat. We have one that may never outgrow his tornado tendancies. I hope that Miles had an awesome birthday.

Yeah! Happy Birthday Miles! All the things I have to look forward to, except that lily's diapers make it even more difficult to get the pants up:)

Love the cake! It better be hand made though. Can't wait to hear more about the celebrations.

he looks ever so happy to be two. probably because he knows, as well as you so eloquently wrote in your post, what it means to be two.
i agree that the great and terribles usually last past two. sigh.

Miles is two! That's crazy! And talking full sentences...we have to bribe and wrench every word out of Cade. We need Miles closer so he can encourage Cade to step-up and vocalize a bit. I bet they'd be great pals.:)
