Luckily I get milk at the commissary or on sale at Safeway for the bargain price of $5/gallon. But these pictures are real, taken at a grcoery store nearby. I just had to post them for the drama.
Once again, another perk to moving to WA. I hope your list is growing--slowly but surely. =) (By the way, Damaris and Jess Nelson showed up in our ward yesterday. They are renting an apartment in DuPont for internship year, then moving back to MD to finish at Walter Reed.)
It seems as if milk prices are going up everywhere, not just HI. I was hoping they'd go down once I left MD, but no, they're just as bad in GA(okay, not quite $9 bad).
Wow. Do you get a break on anything, though? Fruit? Hopefully the price is better than here; I'm sure the quality is immensely better! (fruit here...very dissapointing).
Wow, that's pricey! I'm waiting to hear an update on your injuries...how are you feeling? Better I hope. Don't worry, our blog will be back to "normal" soon so hopefully you won't be banned for too long. Erick is reveling in joy from the Celtics win last night, but it should die off soon.
I remember when Andy and I were dating he used to buy a gallon of whole milk, drink half of it and then pour water back in:) Now if only we could dilute gas...
If our charities do not at all pinch or hamper us, I should say they are too small. There ought to be things we should like to do and cannot do because our charities expenditure excludes them...Sometimes our pride also hinders our charity; we are tempted to spend more than we ought on the showy forms of generosity (tipping, hospitality) and less than we ought on those who really need our help. - C.S. Holy cow!!! I can't believe that price for a gallon of milk. I'm sure that is one thing you won't miss when you leave!

I looked at your older posts and your children are so cute. Especially your daughter. She should be in commercials. I am so glad I found your blog.
If I were you I'd water down the milk to make it last longer. Is there a costco on the island with cheaper milk?

I'm with Sarah - just imagine how great of a deal your grocery bill will be when you make the move!
That is unreal! I paid $2.83/ gallon at Sam's Club 2 weeks ago. Welcome back to the main land, soon anyway!!!!!

hard to believe, might have to try the powder milk thing!
I was just about to ask if those were comissary prices.? I'm glad they weren't. My poor sister who lives on the Big Island--she better buy a cow!
I would seriously quit drinking milk! when I was in Utah it was 2 for $5.00 I was dying!
I realize that I am weeks late in responding to this....but in here in Rapid, Safeway has two gallons for $5.50. I think is has gone down though.
