It's Curtains

Avery got a sewing machine for Christmas.  After Miles showed her how to use it...

We made curtains! 

For the record, she wouldn't listen to me about what type of fabric would make the best curtains.  She wanted to choose the softest comfiest fabric - which obviously is a challenge to get to not flop over at the top, so we will remedy by pinning.  We made the curtain rod with electrical conduit (more on that later).   

Sticks and Stones.

By now I'm definitely used to rocks, sticks, broken arrows, shards of glass, BB's, pellets and general filth in pockets, shoes, backpacks etc., but I have never seen anything quite so...substantial... make it's way home with one of the boys.  I picked Miles' backpack up one day and was shocked at how heavy it had become.  He had been carrying all of these giant rocks around - and for over a week!  I don't know if the pictures show true scale but one was definitely larger than my hand.
